Facial Skin Questions
Answered by Dr.Cohn

Q. Dear Doctor, I have a few clogged pores and spider veins on the sides of my nose. I also have discoloration from past blemishes. What kind of treatment would you recommend?

And, if I made an appointment with you, what are the costs - Insurance doesn't cover cosmetic procedures (right?)

Answer: There are several treatments available for the conditions you describe. Some of the conditions you describe are certainly "medical" in nature so the initial consultation and should be covered by your medical insurance.

When you come in I can evaluate your skin and tell you exactly what skin care products and treatment regimes I would recommend.

Often times we can start you out on "free samples" first so you can try things out and make sure that you like them before you buy them. You can call for an appointment at 330-425-7600.

Q. I have terrible facial skin problems. I have some dry patches on my face that cause my skin to flake, mainly chin and forehead near the hairline.

Mid forehead and nose (T zone area) is usually oily and dry. The rest of my face is red, blotchy and bumpy.

My skin is sensitive and I have tried many different moisturizers, hemp cream, Oil of Olay, and Avon masks and oils. Can you suggest a good product that might work? Please help. Thank You.

Answer: It sounds like you have a few things going on which are very easily treatable. But your best bet is not wasting money with different over the counter products.

Instead you should see a dermatologist who can evaluate your skin type and give you the proper medications to take care of all of your problems.
