Ask The Arborist

Q. We have skunks that dig up our yard every summer. Our lawn is a mess when they get through. Why are they doing this!??

A. Skunks have the annoying habit, along with the one we're ALL familiar with, of making lawns look like I've been golfing in your backyard- divots everywhere!

The reason? They're looking for food, and they're finding it in the form of grubs in your lawn. So, the thing to do is inspect and treat for grub control. Get rid of the grubs, and the skunks will go elsewhere for their midnight repasts.
