More Painting Questions
Answered by Beth Hodge

Q. Does it matter if I use the same brand of paint for the primer as I do for the actual color?

A. No, brand name should not matter, just check that the correct primer and paint base is the same. (Enamel, latex...)

Q. Can I paint the inside of my wood-burning fireplace? I don't use it now, although I may someday. It's cruddy looking from being used in the past.

A. Yes you can paint it! You must buy a special heat resistant paint though. It comes in a few different colors and can be purchased at you local hardware or home improvement. The easiest one I have found to use is the spray, very quick and simple.

Q. How do I get rid of the sticky residue from double sided tape on my walls?

A. A couple ways. One is to use rubbing alcohol on a clean cloth or sponge.

The other is a product that I love (especially with a small child at home) that is called "goo gone". It is a yellowish liquid that breaks down the glue, it is harmless and doesn't smell half bad.

Be sure to spot check in a small inconspicuous place first.
