Q. I want to send flowers for Valentine's Day and am wondering if the traditional long stem red roses are still the proper gift. We've been married almost 40 years.

A. Yes, a gift of traditional red long stem roses is still appropriate after 40 years of marriage!!!! (The 40 year anniversary is Ruby, so red roses are extra special for the 40th!!)

Don't forget, you can create an original bouquet for that special someone! You may want to send just 1 red rose surrounded by other specialty blooms to make your gift something special, or if your wife likes a certain color, send a color rose to co-ordinate with what colors she likes!

Many times men tend to limit themselves to always ordering red....surprise her with a color rose! Most women interviewed say they prefer a different color rose sometimes!
