Fall Flowers and Plants
by Michael Day of Flowerville

Q. I am tired of the traditional fall colors for flowers. Are other flowers not available during this season or why are we limited to the browns and yellows during Fall?

A. You are NOT limited to traditional fall colors!!

Think of the beautiful cornucopia cascading with autumns bountiful harvest! Lots of color!

My particular favorite are the grapes, plumbs, & garnet reds of autumn. Use various cream & green shades, berry shades & all the purple shades!

They look fabulous & work so well during this wondrous season!

Q. Any suggestions for Fall (live) flower decorations? Most seem to be dried flowers

A. There are many things to use to decorate for fall! It all depends on where you want to decorate.

Combine fresh fruit, vegetables, whole nuts, leaves & grasses in a basket for a simple, seasonal accent on a table or counter top. Combine small blooming plants, ivy & leaves.

Add fresh flowers to any combinations of nature's bounty & you have a beautiful floral decoration.

Don't forget to use seasonal gourds, mini pumpkins, wheat & Indian corn, all seasonal favorites.
