Icicles on trees and Shrubs

Q: Should I try and knock the icicles off my smaller trees and shrubs or just let them hang and let nature take its course?

A:Unless the weight of the icicles is enough to break branches, I would leave the icicles alone.

If they are heavy enough to do damage, you can CAREFULLY break them (similar to breaking a carrot in half) to reduce the weight.
