Autumn colors in the CLE can be breathtaking. And we're blessed with a great multitude of wonderful venues to visit and be entranced by nature's beauty. From the Cleveland Metro Parks to Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) to Summit Metro Parks and the many, many community Parks, we've got incredible choices to enjoy nature.
At this time of year, I spend as much time as possible outdoors, hiking or biking or just exploring the area. Here are a few shots from this year's adventures. Though colors have been muted this year due to very (very!) dry conditions in September and early October, there were still lovely areas around the region.
Bedford Reservation
Like all of the Cleveland Metro Parks, the Bedford Reservation is home to numerous hiking, biking, and bridle trails along with several scenic overlook spots. A few beautiful areas include:
Bridal Veil Falls

And here's a couple of extra shots from the drone: Tinkers Creek in the gorge and Cleveland from 15 miles away on a foggy morning.
CVNP
Before this year, I hadn't spent a lot of time hiking in CVNP even though it's very close to home. But I got down to a couple of spots a few different times this year and really enjoyed it no matter the time of year. Some areas I hit up included:
Lock 29 trailhead
Red Lock trailhead
Kendall Lake
South Chagrin Reservation
Quarry Rock Falls
Shadow Lake
Sulphur Springs
