Get fit where you sit
Yoga in a Chair

I was asked to review this DVD a while back. I kept putting it on the bottom of the pile because of lack of interest in Yoga. My loss!

Lakshmi Voelker goes through the exercises in a calm, clutter free room. Her easy smooth conversation and descriptions of each exercise all add to a relaxed mood.

'GET FIT WHERE YOU SIT" is just that - you sit for all the movements. There are 3 levels of flexibility given for each exercise.

I (a couch potato) would find it hard to find someone who could not do these exercises at some level.

They also target places that other exercises don't; like your digestive system, colon, balance and nervous system.

Lakshmi talks you through the movements as she does them in a relaxed easy way. She also uses the proper name of each movement should you want to learn the language of yoga.

I found it very interesting and felt very special using the Sanskrit names, I couldn't wait to throw out the new beautiful words to fellow exercisers.

The first part of the DVD goes slowly explaining everything in detail - the second half moves more quickly. You can always go back to refresh.

Will doing this make me more physically healthy? I don't know, but mentally it helps me to relax and feel good about myself.

Will I do this every day? Probably not. Will I do it often? Hopefully so. Would I recommend it to you to try it? Definitely YES!

Lakshmi ends the workout with Anjal mudra (prayer of the heart) "I honor the light that shines within you and also shines within me."
