Lunch at Bennigan's is a nice treat. It is easy to find and easy to park. It is a large restaurant so there is very little (if any) wait.

Our waitress on this particular occasion was extremely friendly and accommodating. She made suggestions and helped us choose between a few options.

The menu is pretty extensive, but some items are a little pricey. Never fear though, there is something in almost every price range to choose from.

The "Pub Starters" include items like Cheese and Bacon Potato Skins ($6.79), Asiago Fried Cheese with marinara sauce ($5.99) and Broccoli Bites with Smoky Honey Dijon dressing ($5.99)

There's a nice selection of salads to from Kilkenny's Country Chicken Salad ($7.49) to Ahi Tuna Steak Salad ($9.99).

There is always the Baked Potato Soup and each day brings a soup of the day ($2.99/$3.69)

In addition to many sandwiches and burgers ($6.39 - $9.39) there is also a nice selection of combo plates served from 11-3. Main courses for the most part come with two choices from a list of nine possible side dishes. ($6.99 -$18.99)

Special Senior Tip: Consider going at lunch time instead of evening if money is an issue. As with most restaurants, their dinner menu is higher. For example Fettuccine Alfredo at lunch with either a crock of soup or a salad is $4.99. Add a chicken breast for $2.00 more. At dinner the Fettucine goes up to $6.99 without the chicken.

Two of our party had a wonderful Caesar chicken wrap which was served with fries and cole slaw. No complaints from anyone and all plates were completely cleaned. One had a soup and salad combo with the Baked Potato Soup and a Caesar salad. The soup was heavy and tasty, but not the best summertime choice. He'll come back in the winter for more though, he enjoyed the taste immensely. The salad was a good size, often in a combo the salad is very small.

I had a Reuben with white cheddar and Swiss cheese. Real corned beef (not deli meat) and fresh sauerkraut made it a very good choice.

Special Senior Tip 2: Not only can you get a meal to go, but you can fax in your order and they'll have it ready for you. Just ask for a to-go menu next time you're there.
