Leg Cramping

Q. What can cause my leg to feel like it is locking up - and how do I keep it from happening? It's not just a regular cramp.

A. Hard to say here as I can't tell by your question if it is your leg "muscles" tightening or your "knee" locking.

If it feels like your knee is locking, it could be a cartilage tear - often when cartilage tears itself, it can be painless until the tear shifts a bit and "gets stuck" where it isn't supposed to.

People can wiggle their knee around and manipulate the tear a bit to replace it, but eventually, it usually requires surgery to remove the torn culprit!
