Large Print and Braille Tax Guides
Available from the IRS
By Deborah Kogler

The small size of type used to print today's tax forms and instructions presents a challenge for many older people as well as those with visual impairments to read. There is a fast, free and easy solution to this dilemma: the IRS provides instructions booklets in large print and braille.

The large print instruction booklets can be obtained directly from the IRS by calling 1-800-828-3676. The Internal Revenue Service offers only the instructions, not the actual tax forms in large print forms and Braille.

"Charts, graphs and small print are very difficult to read when you do not have the proper magnification equipment to use," said Deborah Kogler, owner of Magnifiers & More. "And, I've found that many people including many tax advisors, do not know that the instruction booklets are available in large print spiral bound booklets free of charge from the Internal Revenue Service."

As a courtesy to store customers, Magnifiers & More at 7775 Mentor Avenue in Mentor, Ohio will carry a limited supply of large print instruction booklets for the preparation of the most commonly used tax forms.

Magnifiers & More is making the booklets available as a courtesy service for visually impaired people. Available are spiral bound instructions booklets for the 1040, 1040A and the 1040 EZ.
