Euclid City Council

Realizing senior citizens are a priceless asset in our community; the 2001-2003 City Council established a Community and Senior Program Committee. Councilwoman Kirsten Holzheimer-Gail chairs this committee.

The purpose of this committee is to ensure that the City is meeting the needs of senior citizens and other members of the community to the best of our ability so that all of our residents can enjoy the highest quality of life.

We are currently setting specific achievable goals for this year to assure the city has a plan on how to meet the needs of the seniors. We will then assess the resources required to change these plans into action.

Euclid City Council

One of the first tasks will be to obtain input from senior citizens. We must make sure the current and planned programs or projects meet their needs.

Unfortunately, we do not live in an ideal society with unlimited resources including funding. Thus, we need this input to assure we are addressing the highest priorities.

If you are a senior citizen in the City of Euclid, please feel free to contact us - Kirsten (kholzheimergail@ci.euclid.oh.us ) or Fred (flisy@ci.euclid.oh.us ) - regarding any suggestions or comments you may have on how you think the city can help you enjoy the highest quality of life.

We look forward to serving the City of Euclid.

We are also working with the YMCA to create a wellness center to help seniors stay active, healthy and independant. Additional program improvements are expected this year."
