Herniated Disc

Q. Can you give me some idea of what I should do for a herniated disc and how long before it is healed?

A. A disc is just like a jelly donut! When the disc herniates, some of the jelly comes out!

Since there are no nerve endings inside the disc itself, many people walk around for years with herniated discs and don't even know it, until one day, that "jelly" pushes on a nerve.

Since each disc is totally different - each prognosis for recovery is different as well.

Ask your doctor about a referral to a physical therapist who can determine if anything can be done to "get some of that jelly off of the nerve!"
