Prescription Drug Questions
answered by Pharmacist John Miller

Q. I was wondering what kind of vitamin would be the best to take, to help restore my liver. Since I take percocet 10/325 3 times a day, I want to help protect my liver and your advice would be greatly appreciated.

A.The Tylenol component is 325x3=975 mg which is less than the maximum 2000 per day.

Q. Can I open Cleocin capsules and mix them with food?

A. Yes, as long as you eat all the food.

Q. I read where grapefruit has been shown to have bad interactions with several drugs including some for high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Is this true? The fruit, the juice or both?

A. Yes this is true! And it is from both.

Q. I am a female, 57, having hair thinning on top, Dr told me to start taking Propecia. Is it safe for me to take? What are the side effects? What chance will my hair grow back?? Thanks for your help

A. Propecia is for men only. It shows no improvement in women in trials.
