It was estimated that a pharmacist who is 99% accurate over 40 years of practice in which 480,000 prescriptions are dispensed will likely cause the death of six patients.*

This scary statistic becomes even more frightening when you multiply it by the number of pharmacists dispensing prescriptions and realize that not all reach that 99% accuracy rate.

Cathy Horton knows this all too well. Her career, family life and health were thrown into turmoil following a combination of errors on the part of her doctor and her pharmacist.

So Cathy created a non-profit organization called flaame - families launching action against medication errors - to help protect others from similar tragedies.
