Wife is a Hoarder
Advice from Kenneth G. Alexander

Q. My wife is a hoarder. She always has been but as we get older it gets worse.

She has 10 times the amount she needs of everything - just in case. Please help.

A. Many times the catalyst for hoarding behavior is fear.

Have you taken the opportunity to CALMLY ask your wife why she feels this behavior is necessary?

Perhaps a reassurance from you can help de-escalate her fears, and in turn make a more rational decision when it comes to making household purchases.

If this is unsuccessful, it may signal an evaluation by a mental health professional.
