Q. My roommate took a pair of scissors and cut off a mole..each day she shaves it too... there is now a huge bloody hole... is this dangerous? Can you actually remove a mole yourself? Also tonight a lot of white stuff was pressed out of the hole... what was this?

Answer: What your roommate has done is indeed very dangerous. She should see her dermatologist immediately, since it sounds like she has an infection. It can get much worse and should be dealt with immediately.

Q. My brother caught the flu. The Dr. gave him a penicillin shoot. He is now extremely ill. He has a sever rash all over his body including his head. He has 100's of blisters covering his face & the rest of his body. There is sever itching, trouble breathing. He now looks like an 80 year old man.

It has been 2 wks now that he has been in this condition. The Dr. gave him a shoot of Zyetic. Now he his swelling up. The Dr. said he will need to get a shoot of Zyetic every day for the next week to help him get rid of the problem. He is also taking several prescribed medications. He is not getting better. What can we do?

Answer: Your brother needs to contact his Doctor or go to an Emergency Room immediately. He may be experiencing an allergic reaction or the medicine is reacting with the other medication he is taking.

Q. Hi, I am sending this question for my dad. He has noticed black spots appearing on his face. almost weekly he will have another pop up. They look like black heads and are on his nose, forehead, chin and cheek. There are about 9 of them,They almost appear to be black ink marks ( but are not) He tried to pick one and nothing happened but a little blood.

He is 70 years old. Have you heard of such a thing??These spots are perfectly round and do not look like they will go away.(very dark) Would love to hear back from you. Thanks, from a concerned daughter.

Answer: Your father needs to have these lesions looked at as soon as possible to make sure that they are not anything serious.
