When/How often to
Wash your Face

Q. Hello, I just wanted to ask a question in regards to washing ones face. Should I wash my face before and after going to the gym? And should I apply moisturizer before going to the gym. Cause lately I feel like my skin is kinda red and flaky.

A. I recommend in general washing the face twice a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening.

Use your hands as opposed to a washcloth or a loofa which tends to abrade or irritate the skin. A nice mild cleanser such as cetaphil liquid cleanser or cetaphil antibacterial cleanser is a good choice.

You can wash again after working out and apply your regular moisturizer, but I wouldn't recommend moisturizing before an athletic workout as this can plug your pores and encourage acne breakouts.
