The Ghost Whisperer
Friday Nights CBS WOIO Channel 19
8:00 p.m.
Congratulations to Mary Ann, Cleveland's own Ghost Buster. As you have read, Mary Ann can see and talk to people who have died, but not crossed over yet.
Last week (9-14-05) there was a preview of the show at The House of Blues and over 200 people attended. In talking to them before the show the theme was always the same: "Mary Ann rid my house of ghosts." "I had a ghost attached to me personally and she set him free." "I call Mary Ann every time I am considering moving and she "cleans" the house for me." One after another testified to Mary Ann's special gift. One woman even claimed to be a retired homicide detective who had been helped by Mary Ann "unofficially" on a number of cases.

I'm not going to suggest you believe, or disbelieve, the claims. But I am going to make a recommendation about the show.
Very simply, I expect this show starring Jennifer Love Hewitt to be a hit. It had all of the elements viewers seem to be craving and recent television has denied us. There is a touch of humor, a touch of fear, a touch of romance, and a large helping of hope and good feelings. The creative photography and camera angles do not distract from the show, but rather enhance the mood.
It is difficult not to feel the pain of the people involved, and as such don't be surprised to find tears in your eyes.
But it is just as difficult to refrain from feeling their hope and joy when the situation is resolved. At that point the tears you feel will be happy, content tears.
Don't be fooled into thinking this is sappy or overdone. It's not. It is a good family show and I recommend it highly.
Acoustics were not good for viewing the show and under normal circumstances people may have turned away and had conversations of their own. This was not the case - everyone strained to hear the dialogue and where happy they did. A huge ovation erupted at the end of the show and reaction from the viewers was nothing but positive.
Do yourself a favor and tune in to CBS WOIO Channel 19 on Friday nights at 8:00 starting September 23rd. You'll be glad you did.
